Heartfelt 2021 greetings
to WestmountMag readers!
From our theatre reviewer Byron Toben who invites us to toast to a New Year of hope
Hi all.
Each year, I search for a good song or rendition to welcome in the New Year.
And each year, I revert to the wonderful Sissel Kyrkjebe.
Ain’t nobody better on Auld Lang Syne than this Norwegian songbird singing on Swedish TV.
With our 20/20 perfect vision, we can see that 2020 was a pretty bad year. The year 536 CE has been touted as the worst of all time and there have been plenty of others throughout history since.
But somehow, Robbie Burns’ simple words always remind us of intermittent good times and hope for the future.
So all together now, lift your cups of kindness and join in regaling with Sissel and all viewers, even without Zoom.
