Mozart’s Magic Flute
Armed with a magic flute and enchanted bells, Prince Tamino and bird-catcher Papageno rush to the rescue of Princess Pamina. On the way, they meet dangerous dragons, dancing animals… and find love!
This widely acclaimed production by stage director Barrie Kosky pays tribute to the silent film era with its sets consisting of screens and projections. “We are delighted to finally present The Magic Flute and turn the page on our 2021-2022 season, which was greatly affected by the pandemic. It’s a production we have all been waiting for since 2020, one that is in high demand all around the world,” said Patrick Corrigan, General Director of the Opéra de Montréal.
“We are extremely lucky to have it here in Montreal,” he continued. In fact, enthusiasm for this one-of-a-kind production is so strong that the company has announced that an added performance will take place on May 17 at 7 pm, with tickets available now.
